Four girl students were hospitalised in Gadag district with complaints of uneasiness and vomiting after miscreants sprayed coloured water reportedly laced with chemical fertiliser on them on Friday.
The incident occurred at Suvarnagiri Tanda near Laxmeshwar in Gadag district when the girls were waiting to catch bus to their school in Laxmeshwar.
When some youngsters approached and asked if they could spray colour on them on account of Holi, the girls requested them not to, primarily because they were to take an exam. Despite their request, the miscreants sprayed them with the liquid and also sprayed some of it inside the bus they had boarded. The water was reportedly a mix of cowdung, eggs and chemical fertiser.
Four of the girls fell ill on reaching Laxmeshwar and started vomiting after alighting the bus. They were immediately shifted to the community health centre in Laxmeshwar where they were given first aid. Subsequently, two others among them – Gouri Pujar and Divya Lamani – complained of chest pain and breathlessness, they were shifted to GIMS Hospital in Gadag where they are recuperating.
