Coadjutor Bishop designate D. Selvarajan.
The consecration of D. Selvarajan, whose appointment as Coadjutor Bishop of Neyyattinkara Diocese was announced earlier this month, will take place on March 25.
The ceremony is planned at Neyyattinkara Municipal Stadium, the diocese said in a statement on Friday. Archbishop of the Thiruvananthapuram Archdiocese Thomas J. Netto, Neyyattinkara Bishop Vincent Samuel, and Bishop Selvister Ponnumuthan of the Punalur Diocese will lead the ceremony.
Pope Francis had appointed Fr. Selvarajan as Coadjutor Bishop of Neyyattinkara on February 8 this year. Born in Valiyavila on January 27, 1962, he studied Philosophy and Theology at the St. Joseph’s Pontifical Seminary, Aluva, and secured a Licence and Doctorate in Canon Law at the Université catholique de Louvain. He was ordained a priest on December 23, 1987.
