An 18-year-old boy who had gone to purchase food for celebrating Bakrid festival in a two-wheeler, was killed after his two-wheeler collided with another in Tiruvallur on Saturday.
The Uthukottai police have filed a case, and are investigating.
According to the police, the deceased, Q. Mohammed Ayub, was a resident of Thamaraipakkam village near Uthukottai. On his way home after purchasing food for Bakrid celebrations, he dashed his vehicle into a two-wheeler near Thambarampedu.
In the impact, Mohammed Ayub suffered serious injuries. He was admitted to the Tiruvallur Government Hospital from where he was transferred to Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital.
However, he died of his injuries on Sunday.
