The Cheyur police in Tiruppur have launched an investigation into the incident wherein a woman was found dead in her car at Mondipalayam on Saturday.
Rithanya, 27, wife of K. Kavinkumar, 28, of 15 Velampalayam in Tiruppur, ended her life, after leaving her husband’s residence.
The police said the couple got married two months ago. Rithanya reportedly started complaining to her parents some weeks after the marriage that her husband and his parents were harassing her physically and mentally, over dowry and other issues.
According to the police, the woman took the extreme step, after sending a voice note to her father on WhatsApp as reasons for her suicide. The police said that she was found dead in the car at Mondipalayam around noon and the body was shifted to the Government Hospital at Avinashi.
The body was handed over to family members after post-mortem around 11 a.m. on Sunday. The Cheyur police registered a case and launched an investigation.
