SSLC-1 exam: Top ranked DK district’s pass percentage further improves with re-evaluation


The overall pass percentage of class 10 students in SSLC-1 examination in Dakshina Kannada district, which was ranked first, further improved to 91.64 with 144 more students passing in the examination following re-totalling and re-evaluation.

Dakshina Kannada district reached the top slot with 25,326 (91.12%) of the 27,795 students passing in the SSLC-1 examination. Following re-totalling and re-evaluation, a total of 25,470 (91.64) students passed the examination.

The Puttur education block, which recorded the maximum pass percentage of 94.09 (4311 of 4582 passed), saw further improvement with 20 more students clearing the examination. This took the overall pass percentage of Puttur block to 94.52 (4331 passed).

Similarly, 14 more students passed in the Moodbidri block, which improved the overall pass percentage from 93.44 to 94.17 (1794 passed of 1905 students). As many as 26 students from Belthangady block passed and this took the overall pass percentage from 92.82 to 93.47 (3709 of 3968 students).

Of the two Mangaluru city blocks, the pass percentage of Mangaluru north block improved from 91.76 to 92.55 (4609 of 5011 students) with 11 more students passing the examination. In the Mangaluru south block highest of 39 students passed and this took the overall pass percentage from 89.43 to 89.66 (4346 of 4816).

In Sullia block, seven more students passed and this improved the pass percentage from 91.77 to 92.15 (1691 of 1835 students). As many as 27 students passed from Bantwal block and this took its pass percentage from 87.41 to 87.88 (4990 of 5678).

The re-totalling and re-evaluation results also saw 23 more schools recording 100% students passing the exams. With this, a total of 172 schools recorded 100% result of which 97 were unaided, 62 government and 13 were aided schools.

Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Director of Public Instruction Govind Maidwala said re-totalling and re-evaluation results have further enhanced the position of the district, which continues to make a mark in the SSLC and 2nd year PU examinations in the State. The valuation of answer sheets of SSLC-2 examination is yet to be completed, he said.
