Safety seminar held for loco inspectors

A safety seminar aimed at enhancing safety standards in daily railway operations was held at the Crew Lobby in Simhachalam North on Sunday. The session was presided over by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Waltair, Lalit Bohra.

The seminar was organised and facilitated by M. K. Sahoo, Senior Divisional Safety Officer, Shiva Naresh Parvatam, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Operations) and Sanchay Adari, DEE (operations).

Loco inspectors from across the Waltair Division attended. In his address, the DRM urged all railway personnel to avoid irregularities, shortcuts, and unsafe practices. In the event of any lapses or unsafe conditions, immediate remedial action must be taken. Officials were instructed to report such instances to higher authorities for swift and appropriate action.

Key topics discussed included operation and maintenance of level crossing gates, bridges, curves, tunnels, signaling systems, and other critical infrastructure. A PowerPoint presentation by the safety department, highlighted essential safety precautions, disaster management protocols, and recent safety initiatives undertaken by the division.
