To strengthen security, enhance patrolling, and improve mobility, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Waltair Division has been equipped with 13 new motorcycles. The motorcyles were officially handed over to the RPF personnel by Alok Bohra, IG/RPF and Principal Chief Security Commissioner, East Coast Railway, in the presence of Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra and Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF Ajay Prakash Dubey.

The motorcycles will be deployed across various strategic locations, including the Kottavalasa–Kirandul Line, Koraput–Rayagada Line, Rayagada–Vizianagaram Section, and other important areas within the Division. These terrains often pose mobility challenges, and the new vehicles are expected to provide RPF personnel with greater agility and reach.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to motorize the RPF units, enabling them to improve response times, strengthen their presence in vulnerable and remote areas, and boost overall efficiency in security operations.

DRM Lalit Bohra said: “Our RPF teams often need to respond swiftly, and these motorcycles will significantly enhance our ability to act quickly, ensuring passenger safety across the division.”

Mr. Alok Bohra, played a key role in expediting the procurement process and emphasised the importance of continued modernisation to meet evolving security needs.
