A combined crew booking lobby and an additional running room constructed at Kallukuzhi second entry side of the Tiruchi railway junction were inaugurated by Tiruchi Divisional Railway Manager M.S. Anbalagan on Wednesday.

The combined crew booking lobby is aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency by streamlining the signing on and signing off procedures for loco pilots, assistant loco pilots and train managers.

The highlights of the facility include air-conditioned waiting rooms for men and women running staff, especially for those reporting from remote locations allowing them to take brief and comfortable rest before or after duty. It has a seminar hall with a seating capacity of 50 staff members intended for counselling, training sessions, and briefings.

An additional 24-bed running room has been constructed adjacent to the new crew lobby. This complements the existing 105-bed running room already functioning in Tiruchi.

The air-conditioned additional running room is intended for use by goods crew from Salem, Madurai, and Tiruchi Divisions. Of the 24 beds, six are earmarked for women and the remaining 18 for men.
