Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday said that factories operating in industrial areas recognised by the government will not need to obtain a factory licence separately from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
“A historic change in the MCD factory licence system has been implemented from today. Now, factories operating in industrial areas recognised by GNCTD/DSIIDC will not need to obtain a factory licence separately from MCD,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in a post on X.
The decision was taken to empower ‘Ease of Living’ and ‘Ease of Doing Business’, as per the CMO.
“If the factory has MSME enterprise registration or allotment letter/lease deed from GNCTD/DSIIDC then the same document will now be valid as MCD license under Section 416/417, DMC Act. No separate licence will be required, which will not only reduce unnecessary paperwork but also ensure transparency and accountability,” read the post.
