A 49-year-old man who was sleeping outside an eatery at Mandapam in Ramanathapuram district was murdered by two persons on Thursday night.
Police said D. Marikalanjiyam, who is survived by his wife and son, was living alone at Mandapam due to a quarrel with his family members. He was working in an eatery, and as usual he went to sleep outside the eatery on R.F. Road after his work.
After a while, two persons murdered him by slashing his throat.
Mandapam police registered a case and arrested S. Sakthivel, 37, and G. Karthik, 34, in this connection. Further investigation is under way.
