Lanka Dinakar, Chairperson of the Twenty Points Program Implementation, has accused the previous Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy administration (2019-2024) of large-scale financial mismanagement, fund diversion, and false propaganda regarding the state’s economic condition. In a statement on Thursday, he reacted to the allegations of former Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on State budget 2025-26, presented by Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav recently in Assembly.

After reviewing Central Government-sponsored schemes across 15 districts, mr. Dinakar stated on Thursday (March 6, 2025) that the Jagan government either failed to provide matching grants or diverted funds, leaving no identifiable assets. “There is no trace of where the money has been utilized,” he remarked.

Mr. Dinakar criticised Mr. Jagan’s alleged contradictory statements regarding state debts in the 2025-26 budget, alleging that non-budgetary borrowings and pending dues amount to ₹10 lakh crore. He pointed out alleged irregularities in MNREGA, Jal Jeevan Mission, and PMAY, highlighting that only ₹2,200 crore was utilized out of the ₹26,000 crore allocated for water projects, during YSRCP tenure.

He further alleged that previous government resorted for siphoning of municipal and panchayat funds through CFMS and the lack of capital expenditure in Amaravati. “Jagan’s claim of requiring ₹1 lakh crore for Amaravati is misleading when his government allocated nothing for its development,” he added.

Mr. Dinakar called for a thorough investigation into the alleged financial chaos under Mr. Jagan’s tenure, emphasising the need for accountability.
