Khammam Excise officers seized marijuana worth ₹11 crore in past year


Khammam Excise officers seized marijuana worth ₹11 crore over the past year, making them the top-performing district in Telangana in terms of drug enforcement.

In 2024, the Telangana Excise department seized a total of about 6,000 kilograms of marijuana, with Khammam alone accounting for 2,225 kilograms, said an official release.

Khammam Excise police achieved these results through 35 cases registered between 2024 and February 25, 2025. The operations were led by excise teams from Bhadrachalam, Palvancha, Aswaraopet, and Kothagudem, who also seized 11 cars involved in drug transportation. In recognition of their efforts, officials from the rank of constable to the top brass received certificates and cash rewards from Excise Director V.B. Kamalasan Reddy in Hyderabad on Sunday.
