Hyderabad Collector pushes for better medicare amid fears of seasonal diseases

Hyderabad District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari on Tuesday conducted an inspection of the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) in Aghapura, and directed health officials to step up medical services in view of the spike in seasonal diseases triggered by recent rains.

Highlighting the need to curb the spread of dengue, malaria and other communicable diseases, the Collector instructed hospital staff to remain vigilant and ensure timely diagnosis and treatment. She reviewed the out-patient records, medicine stock, attendance registers, laboratory reports and dressing rooms at the centre. She also interacted with patients to assess the quality of medical services being provided.

The Collector further instructed medical officers to counsel pregnant women on the importance of nutrition, vaccination and lifestyle practices such as yoga and exercise.
