Park benches made from recycled plastic waste are set to be installed in public spaces across the city.
As part of a 100-bench donation, the Tamil Nadu Plastic Manufacturers’ Association handed over the first 42 benches to the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) at an event held at Ripon Buildings recently.
These benches will be installed in parks maintained by the GCC. The remaining benches will be provided to other parks as required, the release said. Mayor R. Priya and Additional Commissioner (Health) V. Jaya Chandra Bhanu Reddy were among those present.
