Five mobile phones seized from prison inmates 

Five mobile phones including high-end phones were seized from the prison inmates who were lodged in a high-security block in Central Prison-I, Puzhal on Monday. 

Following reports of illegal use of mobile phones in the prison premises, the prison officers conducted surprise checks in the cells. They seized the mobile phones from the block number 9 where history sheeters Arumbakkam Radhakrishnan, C D Mani of Chennai and Vellai Kali of Madurai were lodged. Using their mobile phones, they frequently interacted with the persons outside the prison. Power Banks and chargers were also seized from them. 

Based on complaint given by the prison superintendent, the Puzhal Police registered a case and investigating.
