The Delhi government will provide financial relief of ₹5 lakh each to the 24 artisans whose stalls were gutted in the April 30 fire at Delhi Haat, Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra has said.

In addition to the financial aid, all affected artisans will be allotted stalls at Delhi Haat in INA free of cost for six months — from July 1 to December 31, Mr. Mishra said.

The allotment will be made through a lottery system, he added.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had earlier announced ₹5 lakh as ex-gratia compensation for each affected artisan, Mr. Mishra said. The approval for the assistance has been granted, and the relief package totalling ₹1.20 crore will be disbursed soon, he added.

“Our government is committed to safeguarding the interests of artisans and providing them with the necessary support,” Mishra said.

The relief measures aim to help the artisans recover from the loss and resume their livelihood, he added.
