In a move to standardise women’s safety programmes across the Hyderabad region, the Women Safety Wing of the Telangana Police convened a high-level tri-commissionerate meeting on Tuesday.

The meeting brought together police commissioners, senior officers, and Security Council members from Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda to strengthen inter-agency coordination and ensure uniform implementation of key safety initiatives.

Cyberabad’s ‘Project Safe Stay’, an initiative led by the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), which audited over 1,000 hostels, was recommended for replication in Hyderabad and Rachakonda commissionerates to enhance hostel safety for women.

Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender called for regular apex-level coordination meetings and urged all stakeholders to collaborate seamlessly across commissionerates. He emphasised the need for consistent, scalable and impactful implementation of all women’s safety programmes, noting that only through such synergy can a safer Telangana be built for all citizens.

Additional DGP Women Safety Wing Charu Sinha underscored the importance of synchronised operations among the three Security Councils and stressed that services such as Bharosa Centres, CDEW family counselling centres, anti-human trafficking units and She Teams must operate in a streamlined and unified manner for effective service delivery.
