The Council passed a resolution granting exemption of fee payment for building licence for the construction of Roja Muthiah Research Library.

It approved the widening of the 250-metre stretch from Guindy Race Course Road to the ABT four-wheeler service station at a cost of ₹20.75 crore. This project includes road expansion, new pavements, improvement of drainage system, and landscaping.

The Corporation also plans to upgrade toilet infrastructure in Royapuram, Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, and Teynampet zones. The GCC has sought the State government’s approval to issue the Letter of Authorisation to the selected operator.

The Council has given the nod for building a large cattle shed in Saligramam for an estimated ₹1.85 crore. It will span 1,800 sq.m., and house around 200 cattle.

The Parks Department of the GCC will build sports facilities worth ₹6.2 crore, including eight new kabaddi courts, four synthetic football turfs, and six shuttle courts, each with standard dimensions and amenities such as floodlights, fencing, and seating.

An annual allocation of ₹58 crore was approved for storm-water drain repair and maintenance (covering 42 km of drains), desilting and construction of new ones in flood-prone areas.

Six new multi-specialty centres under the councillor fund, with a total allocation of ₹12 crore, have been approved by the Council. Each centre will span approximately 400 sq.m. and provide general medicine, diagnostics, and emergency care.

Partnering with Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation, ₹35 crore will be invested in two new urban industrial parks, each covering 10 acres and equipped with roads, sanitation, and power infrastructure.

The Disaster Management Centre at Manali will be upgraded at a cost of ₹4.8 crore, with improvements to the control room, emergency equipment, and training facilities.

The Bridges Department will spend ₹8.5 crore to strengthen and maintain three bridges on T.T.K Road, covering 420 metres in total, with new pavements and better lighting.
