Celebrations broke out in Dharmapuri, the famous temple town in Jagtial district, late on Sunday afternoon after the government whip and Dharmapuri MLA Adluri Laxman Kumar took oath as a minister in the State cabinet following the State cabinet expansion in Hyderabad earlier in the day.
The senior Congress leader and first time MLA from Dharmapuri, the 57-year-old Mr Laxman Kumar secured a ministerial berth much to the joy of local party cadres.
Mr. Laxman Kumar also served as the Chairman of Karimnagar Zilla Parishad as well as the State SC Corporation in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh.
The local Congress cadre performed special pujas at the historic Sri Laxminarasimha Swamy temple and later distributed sweets at Nandi statue centre in Dharmapuri.
In Chennur of Mancherial district, the Congress cadre celebrated the induction of Chennur MLA G. Vivek Venkataswamy into the State cabinet by bursting firecrackers in front of the MLA’s camp office.
