Address ASHAs grievances: Ravunni

Porattam chairman M.N. Ravunni has asked the CPI(M) leadership in the State to intervene immediately to convince the government of the importance of pacifying and settling the agitation of ASHAs as their strike entered the 18th day on Thursday.

He said the CPI(M) should maintain its integrity to some of the slogans it raised in the past for the working class. “If you can’t do justice to the ASHAs, you better abandon the red flag you uphold,” he said.

Mr. Ravunni said that ASHAs played a crucial role in the State’s healthcare system, particularly in rural areas. “They are raising demands that are quite moderate and reasonable, such as the need for a dignified life,” he said.
