Three workers injured in fire accident at a factory in Tirupati

Three workers suffered burn injuries in a fire accident that took place in a pharma factory in Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd. (APIIC) Industrial Park, Gajulamandyam village, Renigunta mandal of Tirupati district on Monday (July 14).

According to the sources, fire broke out in the shed of Chromo Medcare Pvt. Ltd. The three injured workers were immediately sent to Amara Hospital for treatment. Fire department personnel who received information reached the spot and extinguished the fire within an hour.

Following preliminary investigation, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, Chittoor and Tirupati, V. Ramakrsihna Reddy said: “Static electricity generated in nutsche filter might have caused the fire. The boiler was partially damaged but that did not trigger the fire mishap.”

“The fire did not spread out to other sheds. However, the factory will be closed until the management rectifies the situation. We will give further orders to reopen the factory after submitting the necessary reports,” he added.
