6 symptoms of Vitamin E deficiency that are easy to ignore

Vitamin E, which is an antioxidant, is needed for healthy skin and hair. Deficiency would cause dry, scaly skin or brittle, thinning hair. The skin may become rough or inflamed and wound healing would be delayed because there is no cell regeneration and repair.
Though most people apply Vitamin E externally through creams or oils, internal deficiency needs food or supplement correction. Dietary foods high in Vitamin E like almonds, sunflower seeds, spinach, and avocados must be incorporated into the diet on a regular basis.

Vitamin E is also needed for healthy vision. Deficiency causes eye damage to the retina and other eye structures, and vision disturbances can result. All of these are possible warning signs early on, blurred vision, difficulty concentrating, or light sensitivity. Chronic deficiency can even produce more severe problems such as retinal degeneration, which could become irreversible if it is not prevented.
