A total of 1,21,836 students appeared for TNPSC Group IV examination held on Saturday across the districts of Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi and Kanniyakumari.
In Tirunelveli district, out of 36,011 registered candidates only 28,901 individuals appeared for the examination, recording an attendance of 80%. Tirunelveli Collector R. Sukumar visited the exam centre at Thirthapathi Higher Secondary School in Ambasamudram.

In neighbouring Thoothukudi district, the attendance stood at 83%. Of the 37,005 candidates who registered, 30,614 candidates appeared for the examination conducted at 127 centres across the district.
Thoothukudi Collector K. Elambahavath inspected the exam centres at Ettayapuram and Kumaragiri areas.
In Tenkasi district, a total of 33,670 students appeared for Group IV examinations. A total of 39,240 candidates from the district registered for the examination.
In Kanniyakumari district a total of 28,651 students appeared for the examination, which was conducted across 120 centres in the district. Kanniyakumari Collector R. Alagumeena, visited the exam centre at Kottar and reviewed the arrangements.
