Telangana continued to receive widespread rainfall for the third consecutive day on Tuesday (July 1, 2025) night, bringing much-needed respite from the sweltering heat of June. Several parts of Hyderabad and other districts in the State witnessed overnight showers, leading to a drop in temperatures.
According to the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), as of 6 a.m. on Wednesday (July 2, 2025), Jubilee Hills recorded the highest rainfall within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits at 43.8 mm. Other major areas also reported significant precipitation, including Banjara Hills (43 mm), Khairatabad (40 mm), Goshamahal (37.3 mm), Hayathnagar and Malakpet (37 mm each), Musheerabad and Chanda Nagar (36.5 mm), Secunderabad (34.8 mm), Yousufguda (34.3 mm), and Karwan (32.3 mm).
Across the State, the highest rainfall was recorded in Garla of Mahabubabad district at 85.3 mm. Other areas witnessing heavy showers included Burgampahad in Bhadradri Kothagudem (72.3 mm), Singareni in Khammam (62 mm), Gandhari in Kamareddy (58.8 mm), Nekkonda in Warangal (58.3 mm), and Ibrahimpatnam in Rangareddy (57.3 mm).
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for six Telangana districts for Wednesday. As per the IMD bulletin, isolated heavy rainfall is likely in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts. The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong surface winds at isolated locations across all 33 districts of Telangana.
