12 lakh people in Salem district will be inducted into DMK, says Minister


Tourism Minister R. Rajendran said that under the Oraniyil Tamil Nadu, DMK functionaries will meet people irrespective of their political affiliations and strive to induct 12 lakh people into the party.

On the Oraniyil Tamil Nadu, the Minister told reporters that based on the instructions from Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, DMK functionaries and cadre would visit every house in the district and explain the anti-democratic activities of the Union government and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from July 3.

MPs T.M. Selvaganapathi and S.R. Sivalingam would inaugurate the initiative. The party cadre would explain the achievements of the DMK government to people. They would be inducted only if they wished to, the Minister said and added that in the 11 Assembly constituencies in Salem district, they aimed to induct 40% of voters, that would be 12 lakh people.

Stating that the Union government continuously gave trouble to the Tamil Nadu government, the Minister said DMK was a democratic force and would gather all people as one team and fight against the Centre.
