Bihar MP Upendra Kushwaha gets death threat: ‘Caller threatened to kill me in 10 days, was from Bishnoi gang’

Rashtriya Lok Morcha president and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha said on Friday that he received death threats from the Bishnoi gang.

“Yesterday, I got 2-3 phone calls and a message threatening to kill me in 10 days. The caller claimed that he was from the Bishnoi gang. I have informed the Police, they are investigating,” said Kushwaha, as reported by ANI.

Kushwaha further spoke on PM Modi’s visit to the state and said, “The people of Siwan are waiting for the PM’s arrival today. As wherever the PM has gone, he has given special gifts to that area…”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bihar’s Siwan district on Friday, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several development projects.

He is also scheduled to address a public rally during the visit.

Modi’s presence in Siwan has energised BJP workers as the party prepares for the upcoming assembly elections later this year. The BJP is banking on the Prime Minister’s popularity to strengthen its position and boost its electoral prospects in the state.

“Seat-sharing between NDA parties will happen smoothly,” he added, speaking on Bihar elections.

The NDA in Bihar comprises five parties – Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Hindustani Awam Morcha headed by Union ministers Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi, respectively – besides the BJP and RLM.

In the 2024 general elections, the coalition bagged 30 seats, nine less than its tally of five years earlier, when it had won all but one of the 40 seats in Bihar.
