Proddatur MLA Nandyala Varadarajulu Reddy has warned the hospital staff of serious action if they acted in a negligent way that could cause any form of inconvenience to the patients.

During his surprise visit to the Government General Hospital in the town on Thursday (June 19, 2025), he directly walked into the wards and interacted with the inmates undergoing treatment for various ailments.

Accompanied by the Hospital Development Committee member Badvel Srinivasulu Reddy, Superintendent Dr. Sri Vani and other staff, he posed queries to the patients if they were receiving proper attention and treatment from the medical staff.

The MLA also sought to know if the medical facilities, sanitation, quality of food served at the canteen and the staff response were satisfactory, to which he received a mixed response.

Speaking to the staff later, he warned that those demanding money from the patients for the services rendered to them would have to face dire consequences. Similarly, he warned them that no form of misconduct or misbehaviour with the patients would be tolerated.
