Three persons were killed on Saturday after a tempo rammed a two-wheeler in north-west Delhi’s Bawana, said the police. One person, who was travelling on the two-wheeler with the victims suffered injury.
The victims, who worked in a factory in Bawana, were identified as Bijay, 38, Ramakanth, 30 Nandu Kumar, 23, while 19-year-old Rajaram Namlesh sustained injuries, said the police.
The police received a call late on Saturday night from Sector 3 of Bawana Industrial Area. They rushed to the spot and found four men lying unconscious on the road.
They were rushed to a nearby hospital in the Puth Khurd area where a doctor declared three of them to be dead. Namlesh was later referred to a better medical facility for treatment.
“All four men were riding on a bike when they were hit by a tempo. The tempo driver fled from the spot after the accident,” said a senior police officer.
Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the absconding tempo driver, the officer said.
