A 78-year-old man K. Kandasamy was arrested on the charge of murdering his son K. Annadurai, 55, in their house at A. Kalingapatti village in Manapparai taluk in the district in the early hours on Sunday.
The police said Kandasamy attacked his son Annadurai with a sword when the latter was asleep and killed him. Kandasamy with his wife Ponnammal had been staying with his son.
The sources said Kandasamy was angry that his son had not been not taking care of him well. The Manapparai police have registered a murder case.
