Mild tension prevailed in the ambulance parking lot on the ground floor of AIG Hospital in Gachibowli when one of its ambulances caught fire on Saturday morning. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time, and no casualties or injuries were reported.
The incident occurred at around 11.40 a.m., prompting a swift response from hospital staff, who immediately alerted the fire services.
According to an officer from the fire control room, the blaze was confined to the interior of the ambulance and did not spread to nearby vehicles or hospital structures. Preliminary information suggests that the fire may have been triggered by overheating, though the exact cause is yet to be confirmed. Fire tenders dispatched to the location brought the blaze under control within minutes of their arrival.
The hospital continued its operations without any disruption, while officials carried out a brief inspection of the premises as a precautionary measure.
