Every drain must be desilted before monsoon: Parvesh

The PWD Minister said he won’t tolerate any excuses

Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh on Thursday instructed officials to complete desilting of drains and ensure all major water channels are cleared before the onset of monsoon.

“Our message is clear — no excuse will be tolerated. Every department must work in perfect coordination, and every drain must be desilted, cleared, and ready before the rains arrive. We owe this urgency to the people of Delhi,” Mr. Singh said during a visit to the Mehrauli Assembly constituency.

The Minister inspected four sites known for frequent waterlogging.

He set June 15 as the deadline for desilting and clearing such locations.
