Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Mauritius Port Louis on Tuesday (March 11, 2025), commencing his two-day state visit to the island nation.
On his arrival, PM Modi received a ceremonial welcome from Mauritius PM Navin Ramgoolam.
During Mr. Modi’s visit at the invitation of Mr. Ramgoolam, the two countries will sign several pacts providing for cooperation in the areas of capacity building, trade and tackling cross-border financial crimes. Mr. Modi will also attend the island nation’s national day celebrations as the chief guest.

Before leaving for Mauritius, PM Modi said that his visit would open a “new and bright” chapter in the ties between the two nations.
