Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh on Wednesday said that till date, over 3.45 lakh cards have been issued under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), and 1.67 lakh cards have been issued under the Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana since both the schemes were rolled out in April.

“The prompt issuance of over 3.45 lakh cards is a testament to the Delhi Government’s efficient implementation and the people’s trust in our healthcare initiatives. We are committed to upholding the dignity and well-being of every senior citizen in the capital,” Mr. Singh said. In Delhi, PM-JAY provides beneficiaries with health insurance up to ₹10 lakh per family.

Under the Vay Vandana Yojana, 1,24,215 beneficiaries registered for the card themselves, while 11,284 were registered with the help of Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) operators, and 42,176 through government-run Common Service Centres (CSCs), officials said. The Vay Vandana Yojana allows senior citizens over 70 years of age to receive free medical treatment in Delhi up to ₹10 lakh.

Meanwhile, the Health Minister also added that over 30 new Urban-Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (U-AAMs) will be ready by the end of this month. “This very month, over 30 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will be dedicated to the people of Delhi. The aim is to ensure that every Assembly constituency has multiple such centres equipped with medical staff, diagnostic tools, and essential medicines to provide free, reliable, and prompt care,” he said.
